Five element acupuncture, herbal and stone medicine
Hello, I’m Laura. I am many things. Some people say I am a “healer” but I don’t see myself that way. I think of myself as a helper. I employ a variety of modalities -- Five Element Acupuncture, herbs, stones, and information -- to help you and your body connect to the deep innate wisdom within to assist in your healing and growth. I am simply here to help.
What I do
I am not your typical acupuncturist. I want to get to the root of the imbalance rather than treat your symptoms. Sure, if you come in with pain, I will address it and do everything I can to help you physically feel better. But I want to go deeper. I believe we heal from the inside out and follow the old adage of “treat the roots and not the branches.” As a trained Taoist stone medicine practitioner, I also incorporate the ancient wisdom of the stones into my treatments. What you may not know, is that acupuncture and Chinese medicine works to help more than just physical ailments. The points connect to the deep wisdom of our bodies to heal all aspects of ourselves: physical, emotional, and spiritual.
My sessions are unlike any other, as I combine my knowledge of the five elements with ancient stone medicine, flower essences, and my intuition to create a deep and unique healing experience.
My offerings include:
Private acupuncture sessions
Chinese herbal, stone, and flower essence consults
Community acupuncture groups
A variety of workshops
How I found this path
I had my first acupuncture treatment back in 1997, when I was suffering from severe asthma. I was in college and felt miserable. The treatments had such a profound affect on me that I knew it was something I needed to study. I was drawn to the classical tradition of the five elements and really connected to the way its practices are rooted in nature.
In 2006 I enrolled in a masters program in Florida. Fast forward a few years and I was propelled into studying the healing powers of stones and minerals from an ancient Taoist perspective. I have found that combining my knowledge of the five elements, Chinese herbs, and stones provides deep inner healing work in an entirely new way.
I have envisioned having a community wellness center since the day I started acupuncture school. However, building a practice along with having two young children was pretty overwhelming. Now, many years later, The Seed to Star Collective has emerged from my daydreams and grown into the nurturing space I imagained.
